Hi, I'm Pranav
Every Friday, I share my process, thoughts, stories, ideas, and weekly recommendations. We're a community of 160+ curious people reading these newsletters.
When I was reading
’s newsletter’s about section, I got to know about a principle called ‘The Goldilocks Principle’ which says that neurologically, there is evidence that our brain finds it fairly easy to grasp threes. When there’s a set of 3, the information gets simplified down complex information into simple information which can be retained by our brain. If you see, the A, B, C or 3 Idiots or ’s Trilogy, all are in sets of 3.There are many hacks I follow in my life and from them, I want to share 3 hacks that help me a lot in my life.
#1 Build in Public
I have been building a few projects for the past 3 years and some of them, I have built in public. It means that whatever you are building, build it in public. Share your progress, learnings, insights you gained while building, etc every day. For me, Twitter worked very well. I have been using it for the past 2-3 years and it has helped me a lot.
Recently, I have been working with Nikhil Gaur to build Hive School, which is India’s First Sales School. We had been documenting our journey on LinkedIn and Instagram and building in public on those platforms about the progress of building Hive School. That gave us a lot of traction when we launched. People started knowing us and what we were building. It helped us to gain feedback from others on how we can make our website and our course structure. It was great that we started early.
#2 Always go early and respect others’ time
I have a habit of going to an event or meeting someone 10 to 15 minutes early. For me on time is not reaching 3 pm for a 3 pm meeting, it’s reaching the destination at 2:45 pm.
It helps, trust me. If you have some unfortunate delays like traffic or anything, being early helps and you don’t keep the other person waiting. Time is money and we should respect that. If you respect others’ time, they will respect yours too.
#3 Give honest feedback
In the book ‘The Mom Test’, it’s said that you shouldn’t ask your mom or close friends for feedback on the idea you are working on because they love you and they won’t want you to fail and they’ll praise your idea. They won’t give you honest feedback.
When someone asks you for feedback on anything, give them honest feedback. It may be hard to give feedback, but it will help others.
