Hi, I'm Pranav
Every Friday, I share my process, thoughts, stories, ideas, and weekly recommendations. We're a community of 100+ curious people reading these newsletters.
I was academically great student till 6th, but after that, I started losing interest in my studies and the way it was taught in school. It was boring and I was getting fewer marks in school.
But when the lockdown happened in 2020, I got a chance to explore a lot on the internet. I did many things and met new people. The last 3 years changed my life.
In this newsletter, I’ll share 3 habits that helped me grow in the last 3 years. I have shared a lot of lockdown stories in the previous newsletters, you can read them. But if you want to ask any questions regarding anything, you can anytime DM me on Twitter or reply to this newsletter.
HABIT 1: Writing and Taking Notes
Not taking notes digitally, but taking notes of my thoughts, meeting pointers, things I need to remember, or anything, I’ll write down in a notebook. Our mind cannot remember a lot of things at the same time, so writing your thoughts and important things helps. I journal my thoughts in my journal, I need to get consistent at journaling, but whenever I write, I document my thoughts and my life. Also, I always have a notebook to write notes from the meetings I attend. It can be the things I need to keep in mind from that meeting or lessons, I’ll write.
Try out writing for a few days and see how it can change your life.
HABIT 2: Coming on Twitter
Twitter changed my life. I met a lot of people on Twitter who were startup founders, content creators, writers, and designers and I learnt a lot from them. I know many youngsters from Twitter who are doing great things. I always tell people to go on Twitter and be there, it will change your life.
When I was 16, I got my first internship. It was because I was hanging out with the right people and learning new skills. It was because of Twitter, that I discovered Fueler, and made my Proof of Work on it and because of that, I got 3-4 internships. And now I am working as an intern in Fueler.
HABIT 3: Working in startups
It’s a continuation of the last point. I got a lot of exposure while working in startups. I met a lot of new people from various backgrounds and cultures and got to learn a lot. I have worked in startups like Thousand Faces Club, Build Academy, now working in Fueler. To see my full work, you can see it here.
You’ll learn more by doing things than in a school classroom. I don’t remember who said this, but if you know who said it, please let me know: ‘School teaches you first and then takes your exam, life first takes your exam and then teaches you’. And I can say that I have learned more by working in startups and building my side projects than I did in 15 years of school.
These were 3 things that helped me a lot in my life. What are the things or habits that helped you a lot? I would love to know them. To tell them, you can DM me on Twitter or just reply to this newsletter mail.
