Ever noticed the best ideas come to you in the shower or when you go to sleep?
I remember, when I was a small child, I used to tell my mom that ‘I am bored, what should I do?’ Did it ever happen to you? I never liked being bored.
But when I started making content and when I read Steal Like an Artist, I realised being bored is actually a good thing. Creative people need time to just sit around and do nothing. What if I told you, that the best ideas come to my mind when I am bored?
Here’s a short story of how the idea to start my YouTube channel came to my mind-
It was my 9’th class final exams going on. I was studying for my science exam which was happening the next day. To be honest, I wasn't studying, I was just staring at the book. But suddenly I thought, I see a lot of YouTube videos, so why not start a YouTube channel. That’s how the idea stroked my mind.
When you want to be creative or want ideas, get bored. It can be washing dishes, cleaning the house, ironing clothes or just lying on your bed and staring at the fan without listening to songs or podcasts. When we do boring work, our minds begin to wander, looking for something exciting, something interesting to land on. And that’s where creativity arises.
As Steve Jobs says, ”I’m a big believer in boredom. Boredom allows one to indulge in curiosity, and out of curiosity comes everything.”
The trouble is that we live in an age in which we never get ourselves the chance to be bored. All the entertainment we could ever dream of is at our fingertips, waiting on the phone in our pocket.

Since I started reading Rich Dad Poor Dad, I realised we are never taught finance, managing our money, or how to earn money in the right way. Here are some YT channels from which you can learn about money
If you follow Ankur Warikoo, you know that he is the biggest hater of FDs. On his channel, he makes content life, personal finance and failures. He makes basic concepts of finance like how to earn your first Rupee in the stock market, investing in US stocks, small cases, etc.
Yeah, Tanmay also makes content on finance. Shocking right? Shocking because many people know him because of his standup and his reaction YT channel, but not on his second channel. He saw a lack of financial knowledge in people and thought to make content on it. He makes content on topics like cryptocurrency, NFTs, how to start in stock markets, etc
She is a very young content creator making content on business Essays, Personal Finance and Cryptocurrencies. She is more active on Instagram, do check her out there too.
Want to learn about the stock market, go visit Rachana Ranade’s channel. She is on a mission to give financial discipline to the masses by simplifying Stock Market Education and Financial concepts.
These were my suggestions. If you have any suggestions for any YouTube channel or any article or any resource, share them in the comments.
