This is how a podcast landed me internship

I create content on YouTube where I share my processes and learnings.
Every Friday, in this newsletter, I share my process, thoughts, stories, ideas, and weekly recommendations.
I had been seeing Dr. Sid Warrier’s content on the internet, whether on his YouTube channel or in podcasts of Tanmay Bhatt and Ranveer Show. Since I loved his content, I wanted to talk to him and record a podcast.
So, in December 2022, I emailed him asking for his 30 minutes. I thought, let’s write it, the worst case is, he won’t reply or say no. As I was at around 300 subscribers
Next month, in January, he said yes, and I did a podcast with him. It was a huge thing for a small creator like me.
Same month, Thousand Faces Club was hiring for a Community Outreach Intern, and I applied. They saw my work in content and the podcast with Dr. Sid Warrier, and in the interview, they asked how I did a podcast with him. I explained the story, how I cold emailed him and did a podcast. They loved it so much, I was later hired for it.
That one email changed my life. It made me realize how opportunities are just there, you need to knock on the door. Why wait for someone’s permission?
