Every Friday, I share my process, my thoughts and some recommendations for good videos, podcasts, songs or anything interesting things I have consumed over the week.
Last Sunday I went to Josh Talks Meetup at Gurugram HQ. The event was called ‘Josh Marathon’. Since India is celebrating its 75’th Independence this month, they wanted to do something big. So, from 1-15 August, they are going to show 75 different stories on their 9 YouTube channels. Josh Talks wanted to share this with their community first and start with a bang.
Here’s how it went
I don’t know why there’s a problem with booking a cab in my area, after the cancellation of 4-5 cabs, I got the cab after 45 minutes. I was running super late for the event. I am a person who reaches any place 15-20 minutes early so that I can talk to people there and I can go with ease, not under stress.
As I entered their office, the first thing I received was … a smile. There was a different vibe to it. A creative space. Then I went into the meeting hall, I got to meet many people who were there attending the session. I also met the members of the Josh Talks Team!
Then I saw the co-founder of Josh Talks, Supriya Paul sitting with the first benchers asking them questions and talking to them about what they were doing.
I had an amazing talk with her. I asked a lot of questions to her about their content, brand, brand and whatnot. While talking to her, I realized she’s the real Josh behind Josh Talks. Her personality, humbleness, and persistence have become a part of Josh Talks, and this reflects in her team! I learned a lot from her that day.
I also had the pleasure of meeting Major Surendra Poonia, VSM sir and also had the pleasure of watching his Josh Talks before it went live. His journey as an Army man is inspiring. I learnt a lot from him about his journey- how he became a doctor in Army, his initial days, how he survived his soldiers in a war with Pakistan and many more.
And you won’t believe he also has a venture “Fitistaan" where he wants to make every Indian fit!
I also had a chance of meeting the Josh Talks team. I asked a lot of questions to them about the educational system, how can we change it, how to learn and much more. The team is really amazing.
I also spoke about why the educational system should be changed, how I plan to change it and told everyone about my YouTube channel.
All in all, the meetup was one of a kind!
If you ever get a chance to go for a meet-up at Josh Talks, don’t miss it.
