Hi, I'm Pranav
Every Friday, I share my process, thoughts, stories, ideas, and weekly recommendations. We're a community of 160+ curious people reading these newsletters.
Last Sunday, Hive School hosted the Delhi SaaS Mixer in partnership with the Delhi-NCR GTM WhatsApp Community and Edtech Club. It was a networking event with the top 1% of B2B SaaS professionals, where they shared ideas and thoughts and how the SaaS landscape is evolving. It was one of the first mixers we hosted.
In this newsletter, I’ll share my learnings from hosting my first mixer.
#1 Hosting the mixer
Hosting the mixer was fun. It was a very insightful mixer as I got to know what goes into managing the event, organizing it, getting the registrations, etc. We also had to work with the management to host it.
It’s great to host an event, as you’ll know how many people are involved in it and have to collaborate with everyone.
#2 Met a lot of B2B SaaS People
I met a lot of people from the B2B SaaS industry. It was fun meeting them and learned a lot. It was great to know a lot about the B2B SaaS and Sales industry.
I have attended a lot of such events, but one learning I take out from this mixer was, that when you talk to any person, take their LinkedIn or any social media and connect with them after the event too. Just messaging that it was great meeting them and hope to connect in the future, really helps. It helps to connect with them easier.
#3 Filming Content
We shot a few content pieces with various people. We had a podcast with Anupreet Singh, Aakanksha Anmol, and some of the other people.
We had the media team shoot the content with us. It was one of the first times I was involved in the shooting of the content. Though I didn’t understand much, about DSLRs, but got to know how the filming works.
#4 “If you like your work, half of the work is done”
I met one of my communications professors at the mixer and she said the above quote. Initially, when I was working with Nikhil (founder), I loved the work as it was like a hackathon. Every day was about building something and solving problems. It was super fun. The deadlines were near and we had to complete them in the set time.
I was there from morning to 9 pm. Loved how everyone was so energetic. I didn’t feel tired when we ended the event at 9:30 pm. It was like a mini hackathon too. I was learning something or the other and it was super fun.
Here’s a video on how the mixer went:
