Hi, I'm Pranav
I work at Hive School, which is India’s First Sales School. I also create content on my YouTube where I share my processes and learnings.
Every Friday, in this newsletter, I share my process, thoughts, stories, ideas, and weekly recommendations.
Last week, I was in Bangalore and I met a lot of people there and went to meetups too. What I used to do when I went to places like a meetup or a place to eat, was to start talking to people I didn’t know, and know some recommendations or anything. This way, I connected with a lot of great people and got to know a lot of things.
For example, at the airport, when I have free time, I go to a bookshop and just see the books. There I saw a person who was also searching for a book. I started the conversation and asked him what his favorite books were, what topics he liked reading, what books recently read, etc. Then we talked about ourselves and got to know that he studied at Bits Pilani and was going to a big US company to work.
How to start a conversation if you are meeting for the first time?
Observe what they are doing. In the above example, he was at books bookshop. So I started with their conversation.
Where they worked and ask about their journey how they came here to where they are.
Ask where they are from and ask questions from that place. (this is optional)
YCombinator had posted a few questions to get to know each other. It may feel like it’s for startups or businesses, but you can mold it according to you.
It may seem simple, but I too got a lot of rejections. Many times, people won’t talk to you or are just busy. One important thing is also following up with them, whether it’s on LinkedIn or Email. That helps them remember you.
Weekly Recommendations

I saw this video of Riza, where she told how the art of showing up got to a different country to shoot a marathon. It is one of the best videos I have seen, and I loved her storytelling.
Picture of the week
Went to Notion’s meet and greet in Bangalore last week. It was fun meeting new folks there.
