Hi, I'm Pranav
Every Friday, I share my process, thoughts, stories, ideas, and weekly recommendations. We're a community of 100+ curious people reading these newsletters.
You must have heard the phrase 'Fake it till you make it' and many people like it. It tells us that we have to fake what we do before we actually do what we should do. But, here's a problem with faking it.
We tend to fake our work and show others that we are very productive people show book covers on Instagram, but many of them don't even read books and people show we are perfect, but in reality, they are the messiest.
We can bluff the world, but we cannot fool ourselves. We know how imperfect we are. Also, in one of my internships, I learnt that people over time will figure out that you are faking it. So, it's okay to show your authentic self.
Ankur Warikoo is the perfect example. He is a content creator and an entrepreneur. I have spoken about him in this newsletter and he is the most authentic person I have seen on the internet. If you see him on YouTube or meet him in person, he is the same. He doesn't show 2 sides of his in both places. If you have seen his videos, he sometimes says the wrong word or fumbles. He has a good YouTube team to handle the post-production and he can easily edit his mistakes. But he doesn't. That's his true side.
I am also trying the same. I am also trying to keep my mistakes in my videos and be natural.
One more advantage of being authentic is that people connect with you easily. When people see your mistakes, they realize they are also the same.
So the next time you are doing anything, be authentic.

This is a good read, Pranav. Our mistakes and the way we accept them in front of others comforts others to do the same too
