Join the 100+ curious readers who read these newsletters every week.
A content creator’s life is very hard. I am writing this on 27th December and the 6th day of fever’s rest. I don’t have a fever now, it’s just a weakness but to keep the consistency, I edited Riten’s podcast and last week’s newsletter in fever.
Nas Daily inspires me to be consistent. He made a 1-minute video travelling all around the world and uploading videos for consistently 1000 days. That gives me inspiration. Also, Casey Neistat is one of them.
Now let’s move to the newsletter
Introduction
This is the last issue of 2022. It has been a very interesting and fast year. It went unnoticed. But lots of great things happened this year that made me happy and I learnt a lot from many things.
#1 Odisha-Kolkata-Ambala Trip
These were the main trips I went on this year. In March, I went to Bhuvneshwar, Puri, Kolkata, and Sundarbans Forest and the best thing about this trip was visiting the Eden Gardens cricket stadium. I got to visit the stadium, see different stands, got onto the ground and pitch, bell and meet the President of the Cricket Association of Bengal. Being a cricket fan, it was a dream true.
In June I went to Ambala to volunteer in an Art of Living Happiness Program for 4 days, the program was for 3 days. It was my first time in Ambala and it was great. I wrote about this in my previous newsletter. It’s a small, pleasant city and good food.
#2 Meeting amazing people
After shifting to Delhi from Pune, I started taking the opportunities to meet amazing people and going to meetups. Pune is also a great city for various opportunities, but when I was mature enough to understand that, the pandemic started and a year later, I shifted to Delhi.
I went to various meetups and I wrote in my last newsletter about all the meetups I went to.
It is said that you are average of the people you surround yourself with. If people around you have a growth mindset and discuss ideas, you will discuss ideas and grow. But if you are with people who talk about other people, what others eat, wear, talk about, etc, you will be like them and won’t grow. I started giving more focus on the community this year and it was amazing.
#3 Survival mode in Delhi
After coming from Pune to Delhi, most things happened unexpectedly. The summers and winters were extreme, the extreme opposite of Pune weather. New people, new environment and many things.
But there are many things I enjoyed. The food is great. Chole bhature, chole kulche, dal makhani etc are great here.
You won’t believe I came to Delhi on 10th October 2021 and sat in Delhi metro for the first time on 9th October 2022. It’s strange, but you can read about my experience of Delhi here.
#4 Anxiety
I’m not too fond of schooling and want to change it and do some unconventional or different work in my life. That affected my marks. From 7th grade, my marks weren’t that good. I am below average since then. But I know that I want to make a different career where marks are not important. But this thought of low marks kept me in anxiety that whether I’ll do good in my career in life. I had self-doubt because of this.
What helped me get out of this was travelling, spending time with myself and journaling.
If you too face anxiety or sadness, being close to your friend or family really helps. Share your thoughts with them. Also writing your thoughts on paper and emptying your mind will give you relief.
#5 Content
This year this newsletter completed 100 subscribers and I am extremely happy about it. This year I write 45 newsletters and it was a great experience writing them.
This year I also got my first sponsor for the newsletter. For a content creator, the first sponsor is very memorable.
I also re-started my YouTube channel after months. I am experimenting with some videos. But I’ll be uploading more podcasts. So if you haven’t subscribed to my channel, you should subscribe.
What I need to improve | What I missed
#1 Health
I didn’t focus on my health that much this year. I did exercise significantly less, was inconsistent at it, and ate unhealthy food.
But next year, I will be making a habit of exercising daily. I realised I need to take care of my body and eat healthy
#2 Deep connection with friends and family
I connect with a lot of people this year. But what I missed was a deep connection with them. There are friends with whom I haven’t spoken in over 2-3 months.
During the lockdown, I also lost connection with some of my family members. I haven’t spoken to them in a long time.
Always be connected with your loved ones and keep in touch with them. It will later help a lot
What to focus on next year:
#1 Writing
A few days ago, I participated in Fueler’s blog challenge where all the participants had to write 5 blogs in 5 days. I got the second price for that. But what I realised, writing daily helped me a lot.
Next year, I want to focus on daily writing. Not on newsletters, they will be weekly newsletters only, but I’ll update you in the future
#2 Podcasting
I did 2 podcasts this year. I love having conversations with curious people and want to record and publish them on the internet so that others can benefit from them too.
#3 Building myself
I want to grow every day. Whether it’s reading or a course about filmmaking, writing, etc. It’s about being 1% better every day
My 2022’s Content
Here is the content I published this year 👇
• 45 editions of newsletters
• Lots of recommendations
• 2 Shorts & 6 videos on YouTube
• Recorded 2 podcasts
